Thanks Mr. Fred, Yeah, the good Lord blessed me with sobriety and a new good wife not to mention doing something in life I love. Could have made more staying in structural engr'ing. but it just didn't trip my trigger like gun scratching up does. Ken

I love the way your leaves direct the eye forward to flow around the sideplate which brings you back to the goose.
The whole work is so impressive and tasteful.
I think you chose the right move from structural engineering to what is obviously (to me) the right profession for you. I too made a professional switch in my late thirties and found happiness.
Best, Milt

Ken, that is outstanding. The dog on the bottom is the best, right down to the raised left eyebrow.Reminds me of my Chocolate labs look when I miss. You are quite talented,I could not imagine even starting to undertake something like that and to have it come out so nice.Thank you for sharing it. Dave

Dave, if the truth be known, "Black-de-Dawgh" is rolling her eyes in shame ! Not unlike the kitten does when his father Silvestor the tom cat screws up --- remember the Disney cat Silvestor ? I think Black was shamed by having such a clutz for a human bean. Ken

Ken: You were just getting into this project when I saw the old Baker at the Southern; but this is really becoming one nice piece! And I really like the dog, as that depiction reminds me so much of my old lab and best friend "Lady" (AKC-Tom's Redneck Lady). We spent many hours together in the dove blind, and that's the kind of look she would give me whenever I missed a bird, which was quite often during my field testing of vintage double guns and loads; but there was never a more loyal friend or better hunting companion. Keep up the great work!

This is truly the work of an acomplished atrist. To be able to get everything to work together is not as easy as it looks. The duck on the siedplate is so real that you can almost hear it when it plops down on the water. Truly excellent work Mr. Ken

Ken,
Outstanding work. I hope we get to see the complete job. Fine work like this deserves the very best wood.

Ken, I only made the ABC remark in light of your recommendation for Everclear and Alkanet root. I did not know ABC still existed in NC! Congrats on your sobriety and tremondous artistic abilities.

Oh yeah, we still have ABC stores ------ we also still make and run corn. Well, not me anymore but there are a few boys down in the low areas (swamp) of Beargrass that still crank a few gal out of the old thumper kettle. I have given up using rubbing alchohol since rediscovering grain .

There are some folks in Tennessee that "still" turn out some corn squeezin's. Never thought to use that brew in gunwork...gonna have to change my ways. My Fox SW is coming along slowly due to "other" business, hope to be taling with you soon about some quail and a dog among other fine arts.
