Need some help in making a decision about a gun. Contemplating a Ugartechea Mod. 30 20 ga. 27 inch barrels 14 1/2" LOP IC, Mod choke. The gun is virtually NIB as it has only had two boxes of shells put through it on the sporting clays range. The owner can no longer use the gun because of physical problems. The gun was purchased 4-5 years ago. The asking price is $995 which is approximately the new price back then I believe.

In 2002 Lion Country Supply sold them for $995.00. In 2003 they increased in price to $1095.00

Thank you for the advice. Does that seem like a reasonable asking price?

They are very well made gun for the money. You've obviously seen the gun and can see the very good machine work and fitting of the metal (extractors, lockup, etc.)

At $995, JUMP ON IT! I just purchased a Lion Country 16ga for $1350. It is a really nice gun, handles very well, beautiful case colors, and came with surprisingly nice wood. Actually, it reminds me a lot of the RBL, at half the price. You can't go wrong.

I think I recall someone mentioning that these were copies of English boxlocks?

I bought a Model 30 12 gauge Uggie last year, had the chokes bored out. Lovely gun for the money ($700.00). It too had seen very little use, light weight for upland hunting. At this point can't wee getting it all wet and muddy on the Missouri duck hunts. Sounds like a good deal.
