Please note that NONE of the Husqvarna doubles were ever rated for steel shot other very hard metal pellets. I doubt that any of them were made of metal hard enough to withstand much use with steel, Hevi-Shot, Hevi-Steel, etc.
I use my older Husqvarna hammer doubles for ducks and geese with Bismuth and Kent Tungston-Matrix, generally in 1,0 oz loads and have no problems killing mallards out to about 40 yards. Now and then I do use some 3,0 inch Bismuth loads with 1 3/8 oz of #5 shot in a early Citori, mostly when I think I have high chance of getting shots at geese. One and one quarter oz of #3 bismuth has also killed geese quite well, as has 1,0 oz of same pellets.
