The 1959 and 1960 Stoeger catalog lists you gun at the same price as the Model 60, the Kim at $158. The VIIIE with ejectors was $238 as was the ejector equipped Model 60 Deluxe. There were engraving upgrades available on the Model VIII for $36 to $174. From this catalog pages I would say the ModelVIII you have is a field grade gun with basic engraving - not a mid grade in terms of a Sauer product but certainly a mid grade gun in comparison to US made Stevens, Winchester 24, and other mass produced guns of similar quality. It was priced a little above the 1940 prices for Parker VH but we know what collector notice has done for the Parker in the last 60 years.
