Gentlemen, I have lost the contact information of a craftsman in Iowa that rust blues Damascus barrels, especially Parker Bros barrels correctly. Are any of you familiar with this information? Thank you

Re-blacking would be what you are wanting. Try getting in touch with Buck Hamlin. JR

Thank you, JR. Mr Hamlin’s work depicts the barrel colors for Smith, Lefevers, etc., a browning. Parker’s are more black and white, a slightly different process. It has been years, but I had been given info for a gentleman in Iowa that blued Parker barrels, I have misplaced the info.

Randy, Are you saying you want the barrels to be rust-blued to hide the damascus pattern? Otherwise, Buck can do them in whatever color you want. There is really no such thing as blued damascus with the etching process to reveal the pattern. There is either brown damascus (brown and white?), or black and white damascus. More knowledgeable people like Drew Hause will be along shortly to correct me if I'm wrong here, which could very well be the case. JR

Ken Marburger (Ken61) has not been on this Forum since 2019, and I don't believe he is still at it. Maquoketa, Iowa 815-761-3323

I second Breck Gorman. I know him personally and have seen many examples of his work in his shop. IMO, he's the man for Parkers.
May God bless America and those who defend her.
