Deer season is about the only time of year when my son and I can spend any time together. This season will be slightly interrupted as he has succumbed to the siren call of a fishing trip with his buddies opening weekend. I'll probably be in the woods alone this year, the first time in 10 years or so. We generally harvest 4-5 deer a year. We really ought to take more because of the ever increasing population. I generally give the bulk of the harvest away to friends and family. They are always happy to recieve fresh venison.
