Craig and Sharpsrifle, I brew up my own reloads, using Federal Hulls and Remington SP10 wads for a base. I have a small supply of bismuth that oughta last me another couple of years. After that....who knows. Surely someone here in the states will see an opportunity and try to supply us with homegrown bismuth.
Craig, the DH is a #3 frame with 30" barrels. Built 1910.
You can get NiceShot from Ecotungsten. It is tungsten instead of bismuth but is manufactured to be soft. It is pricey but can be purchsed in 1kg quanities. I picked up some #5 shot but have not had a chance to load it up. What is your gun choked? Is it choked the same as the Parker letter indicates (if you have a letter)? Mine has been overbored a couple of times to clean it up and the constriction is now super full. I have yet to hit the patternboard to find out how it is throwing them. Bismuth/tungsten and the like is too expensive to be shooting much at paper. It kills Geese so that is all that matters.
Thanks,
Kurt
