as I said, the 1908 carbine is an anomaly as well, in that it's in 6.5x55...they weren't supplied in that caliber...at least not in the US...the previous owner lived in Geneva, so maybe they were supplying them to the Swiss in that caliber...I just bought an early Swiss gun catalog in hopes of learning more about the Steyr line there, but it'll be a week or two 'til I get it...the gun does not look re-barreled or refinished in any way...it has the same long swept pistol grip as my Steyr 16ga SxS...It's the first cased carbine I've seen...I can post a photo or two if you want...
