I've owned this gun for quite a long time. I've used light 2-1/2" RST ammo in it in deference to its age. I have decided to sell it and when taking photos, noticed that the barrel flats are marked 3". The chamber gauge confirmed it. The gun weighs 7 lb 2 oz. Is this a rare configuration especially in this light weight? I've only owned a few Parkers, mostly lower grade and smaller gauge.

Have you ordered a letter from the PGCA? That would probably tell you if the markings are factory.

Your gun is a 1 1/2-frame size stamped on the rear lug. The 3 on the action flats is the grade number.

I see the barrel weight stamp of 3lbs 11oz on the flats... The ounces (11) are stamped in 'superscript' to the lb marking.. Were you thinking these were denoting inches? I don't see any other stamps referencing chamber length which would be unusual unless sent back to the factory perhaps for lengthening or repairs (Fox was known to do this under Savage's ownership). The other "3" stamp in lower right corner represent the 'grade'.. Same as on the action flats as WS points out..
