I may be missing something here. I am an antique car man as well as a SxS lover. It is entirely possible that I would have mentioned something car of days gone by in a thread in order to make a point. Sorry, but I don't remember trashing any thread. If so, it was not intentional and will be the first to kick my own butt when it is pointed out. I learned long ago that it is usually best to laugh at myself. Especially if everyone else is laughing at me over a faux pas or a foolish mistake. Or even an ignorant one. I think the happiest man is one that can roar with laughter at himself. My sig line on another BBS is: Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like you do when nobody's watching. Life is short. Make it mean something. Best, John

I kinda expected Utah to not like me after I sent his junk W&C Scott back to Westley Richards.
jOe, It has nothing to do with you not liking the 'junk' Scott I had on consignment with W.R. As I remember, we had a very nice conversation on my dime after you requested thru W.R. that I call you. You didn't like the gun? Fine. You still couldn't pass on the chance to take a swipe at me by mentionind the 'junk', could you. Why is that? Because I requested that you shut up? I am not sure what the nature of your conflict it with Robert Chambers. This is the best site on the web to offer information about doubles and other antique firearms. Chambers regularly adds to our knowledge base. Why you can't accept that and leave the rest of the childish B.S. off the site I don't understand.

Rabbit it sounds good but Lord Robert crossed too many lines with his nasty remarks and name calling.
It seems Lord Robert has but one agenda to try and get Lowell and I banned from this site.....I'm kind of surprised by some others like the two Mikes....
You're not going to be banned. I dont' think Dave has ever banned anyone. If so it has been so rare in the ten years I have been visiting this site I just don't remember it. Even Glenthorne who takes his 'nom de net' from the name of name of another members farm hasn't been banned. The member whose farms name Glenthorne uses was/is very knowledgable, but for the most part he gave up posting here because of this type of behaviour. Being lumped in the same group with Glenthorne is not a good thing in the eyes of most long time member. Even if the name calling and attitude was only coming from one side, the quickest way to end an internet argument is to stop replying.

OK...finally Lowell is here...is there some reason we can't agree to a truce? Call it a cease fire if you want, but stop with the insults and "veiled putdown(s)" (like this lame rhyme posted above)...in fact it would be best for everyone if we just leave each other alone, but this must begin with you...and I give my word to follow suit...you've always had the option of just leaving me alone...now that I've chosen to bring the trouble to you, you've still had the option of agreeing to a truce...you chose animosity over peace...now the guys who actively work this system with hard earned research, (while you talk wardrobe) , are insisting that we end this fray...I will cooperate fully, so long as you agree to leave me alone, and not interupt any academic exchanges of doublegun information that I am participating in.
I think you've got everyones attention now...what's it going to be Lowell?...it's just five little letters, and we can all get back to discussing doubles...T R U C E

Utah,
I truly appreciate your (sort of) kind words, but already joe is taking pot shots at you... there's too much at risk here...they could agree to a truce with me and start continually bashing your posts, knowing that I gave my word to stay away... that's how they operate...Thanks, but I have to take the heat for this one
