I believe your gun started as a pin-fire, from the starburst detailing at the breech. I used Steve's excellent summary of the Dougall Lockfast from that line with a gentleman whom Diggory put into contact with me who was also restoring a Lockfast. Steve's post really is one of the best around.

Thanks for all the great links, I enjoyed reading them. Upon closer inspection, I believe that Mr. Nash is right in that it started off as a pin-fire.
