They may indeed be. The big difference is the GDZK cases have two combo locks versus one key lock on the Tourbons. From the picture they look very much alike. I will say that the Tourbon I have looks good with the exception of the straps. They are bonded leather, not saddle leather or double thickness and stitched at all. Also, on the Tourbon the handle must be folded out of the way to get the key in to lock it and without the straps tightened (their purpose) each end can be pryed open just a small crack. The leather on the Tourbon looks really good though. Once I get the GDZK I will have spent $200 less than the Tourbon. Of course, Tourbon has a 60 day return policy and it should not cost too terribly much to mail it back to California.
