It's a Lefever Nitro Special 20ga. I'm kinda buying it for my son but until he's old enough to shoot it or decides to shoot something else I'd like the option of being able to use it myself.
Sounds like a temporary lengthening is in order. Jeff's Outfitters has a moderately priced and very nice Silvers repro in the 1.5" size, but they also sell the "Technically Superior Recoil Pad" (that's how it's labelled on the bag) in black, and that might look better on a Nitro Special, and because it's black you could also add a spacer without making it too noticeable. Should make the gun very shootable and presentable while you look for replacement wood or a parts gun. If you put a pad on the current stock, don't let the fitter trim the stock to "square it up." He might need to dress it a bit to get a perfect fit, but no cutting should be necessary (or allowed).
