I did change my screen name. I have been hanging out on a bunch of rifle sites and "Marksman" seemed a bit over the top on those, particularly since I am not much of one..... That name was a leftover from my first email address in ''94-95.
The plan is to go to Vegas this year. Thanks for the offer of the shells. If I make it to Vegas I will gladly take them off your hands.
I have all kinds of excuses, and it has been a hectic summer (and two + years.....), but yes it is the Springer that I am finally getting around to shooting.
The bullets and brass showed up this week, I am just waiting for the shell holder from RCBS. IMR 4198 Nitro for Black loads will be first. Once I have a regulated load then I'll start on the BP.
My only concern at this time is the base diameter just ahead of the rim. The .450NE brass I am using is a bit undersized and I will have to watch for splits or signs of separation. If that happens I'll send my chamber casts to Rocky Mountain Cartridge. I may do that even if the NE cases work so I can get a headstamp with "Joh, Springer 450 Long" or some version thereof that will fit on the case.
