Until the recent dry spell for powders I often could find discontinued powders in small gun shop around me. They would be just sitting there on the shelf for the taking. With the absolute lack of powders a lot of other re-loaders have just bought whatever they came across and tired to figure out a load for it later. About three years ago I found 17 pounds of 800X in a small gun shop. It was a bargain at about $23.00 per pound. That will last me a long time and was my go to powder choice for 20 gauge for years. Some people complain about it not metering well but I have never ahd that problem.

Funny thing was about a year later I stopped into the same shop and he had a 8 pound keg of PB on the shelf. Said he found it in his back room. It is my back room tonight. He was completely out of rifle primers and said he had none for himself. I sent 2,000 large rifle primers up to him with my son a week later, for personal use only I told him. He can pay me back later. I keep a mental list of powders to be on the lookout. Ask every gun shop if they have them and have gotten lucky several times. Worse thing they can do is laugh and say I wish, don't we all sometimes? 20/28, 572, Unique, 800X and Longshot can cover your 20 needs. Hope you find one or more of them.
