Cold Iron, I greatly appreciate your post. I would love to read about how you fume cherry. I have
a semi-inletted cherry stock that I am saving for a Mauser project.

I certainly appreciate the can of Art’s you generously gave me the other day, Cold Iron. I’m looking forward to trying it on a pending refinish job. I might top coat mine with Timberluxe. I’ve had good luck with it.

Two ways that work with anything.
1. Wet sand the finish until the pores fill. Cut back between coats with 400 grit on blocks. I usually do it with 3-4 coats.
2. Paint on the finish without cutting back between coats. Let dry after each coat. After all the pores are filled, use a steel scraper with a burr edge to level the finish. Wet sand in the finish with 400-600 grit to even it out. 1-2 coats will do it.
