You Sir are a wild man.

This subject get beat to death on You-tube (one fellow is hand-reloading plastic shells on a stump in the woods with Pyrodex and steel BBs, egads! He seals them up with candle wax.) . I just went through some more of my stuff downstairs and I have both Pyrodex and Black to play with if so-inclined. If I ever get to actually retire, the projects and mischief I can get into now is nearly endless...

In the FWIW department, I've been testing fiber wads in 2" 12 ga lately. I've had two batches of multiple loads tested at Precision Reloading, and one of the very few things I can say with great confidence is that Circle Fly wads work very poorly with my smokeless loads. Tom Armbrust warned me about that, but I had to prove it to myself.

Sometimes you can find the old brass hulls at gun shows. Most of them used the #57 primer (if my memory is accurate) and a large pistol primer can be used in place of the #57.

Downside is that some brass hulls may have some sort of different primer and used hulls may not chamber in your shotgun.

The thin brass Magtech and antique can be re-sized. Used RMC are a real bastard to re-size. A 1 ton arbor press isn't always successful.

smile for sizing I use a big Wilton vise or a 12 ton shop press and my homemade
sizing dies made from diesel engine wrist pins and lots of Imperial Sizing Wax.

If the RMC brass is limited to use in one gun, there's no need to resize. Gil

I believe you could bust a sizing die on an RMC case. But you could probably also turn them down once or twice and have still plenty of brass left over.

I wouldn't put a RMC hull in a conventional sizing die. I use a block of steel that someone drilled a 10 gauge diameter hole in and either use the arbor press or a sledgehammer with sizing wax. Even so I have 8-10 that are still too over sized to fit in my 10 gauge and that won't fully re-size using my method.

Skeettx: Any chance of a Whittington shoot this summer? I can think of a number of folks who might be able to attend.

I resize 12 ga. RMC shells using a die for brass shells in a large press, moving the well-lubed shells into the die a fraction of an inch each time. I am away from home and don't remember the brand of the die or model of press; it is big enough to handle 3.25" nitro express brass. Restricting each set of shells to a single gun avoids that hassle, of course.
