Twist was initially used on Quality No. 1 upon introduction in 1890, then Laminated Steel until about 1898, then Two Iron “Good Damascus” until 1907, when “Special Steel” was introduced.
No. 0 were not introduced until 1894, initially with Twist but by at least 1898 Good 2 Rod Damascus

And early guns are occasionally found with Birmingham Provisional Proofmark
