Remington may have the best barrels but their triggers and safeties are part rattlesnake! I am still finding some of their messed up systems among the rifles of students in my hunter education classes that have to be retrofitted with new assemblies to make them safe. We even had an instructor's rifle go off with the release of the safety during a field day demonstration. They say the problem was in the older models which they have recalled but some of the later ones seem vulnerable too unless the trigger pull is two handed. Couple this with the decline in their fit and finish and Remington's bolt rifle just isn't my choice.
