Had a nice outting, hot, but nice. Had 21 Boy Scouts and 11 adults. We shot about 800 clays. I took the 20 gauge Nitro Special and another adult brought his 12 gauge Nitro Special. I’m trying hard to get the kids interested in sxs shotguns. I actually got worn out from shooting which is very odd. Last time we had 2 16g and a 12 and 20 Sxs. It’s always a good time to take kids shooting.

Any time we can get kids interested in shooting is a great thing for the sport! Every young person should be so lucky to be introduced to a SxS shotgun.

Let the kids shoot a light recoiling auto or O/U-- the drop and recoil from vintage SxS's recoil too much and are not as easy to shoot!

I also had a couple of 20 gauge montifeltros in 20g and my Beretta 390 in 12 which has less recoil than a 20. They had plenty to choose from. For the 12 G SxS I reload 1oz loads with 17.5 grains of American Select. That’s a Flues safe load for my 12 and has pretty much no recoil. I’m not trying to kill them, just teach them and let them have fun.
