How far is the screw hole from the top of the pad in the new pad that you purchased from Stoeger that you said fit the gun? Because it looks like you can fill in the top hole with a dowel and screw new holes.

Jimmy. The top screw hole was 22mm from the top of the heel so unfortunately there isn’t wood to screw in to. However, I found an original trap pad from a spare parts shop in Gardine VT who will ship to me. The top hole is 16mm so bang on. The C to C of the holes is 85mm as opposed to the current 80mm so I’ll fill the bottom hole in and will have to grind off the bottom nub off the pad and just drill a new hole 5mm lower. Lots of meat there. The pad looks, based on the measurements, like it will need negligible grinding around the sides and top and about 4-5mm at the toe to get the angle right.

This is the shop.

Very helpful, chatting with them on whatsapp.

Ok. So I elongated the bottom hole, made it oval so I could still use the plug on the pad. I filled the old screw hole with a piece of hardwood dowel, and drilled a new hole 5mm lower. Ground the pad that showed up today. I think it’s good enough for the girls we go out with.
