I am just asking if it is firing the bottom barrel automatically when it/you are just using one barrel? Nope. The barrel selector makes you choose which barrel will fire first. There is no default setting that I know of.

All you have to do is snap it, open it slow, and see which ejector fires.

All you have to do is snap it, open it slow, and see which ejector fires. And bingo! That worked a treat! Top barrel is ejecting when I select top barrel and only get one click. Bottom barrel ejects when I select bottom and only pull once; both ejectors stand proud when I pull a second time with bottom selected. Thank you, Mister Hillis.

Get out there and shoot it a bit, setting the selector in both positions. Who knows? It might start working correctly all by itself. Sending it out to be repaired could cost a fortune. Too bad you're not near Ottsville where parts and service may be more available than anywhere else. My K-32 is 56 years old and the people at Ottsville have kept it running all that time.

If one barrel fires and a second pull is a no-go, then the hammer is probably falling on the second barrel. The easiest way to confirm this is to load primed shells in both barrels and keep doing that until you figure it out.
