It's a nice looking gun. Their ad says "ONE of the finest ever made in this gauge". $15-20,000 won't buy THE finest shotgun ever made in ANY gauge. If I had $15,000 to spend on a shotgun I'd expect a better wood-to-metal fit, for openers.

Well, I guess if you like tarted-up things, everything's according to taste, but I'd take my L.C field 20 into the blind before any of these any day. Dazzle disappears with age.

It's a nice gun even if the screws are turned every which way.

The lock shape is more like Spanish locks. Is this one of those Spanish guns "Boswell" finished up in Canada ?

Couple of weeks ago I have seen one better in every respect. The lock plate was engraved in gold with inscription Boss & Co. Local Gander Mtn. had that "1 Mil" collection on display belonging to some business outfit called "Three Forks Ranch".
PS. Spanish make excellent guns. Just look at the less expensive offerings from "Purdey of Birmingham".

I'm not sure how you judge finest but the one that I covet is owned by a dear old grouse hunting friend that is at the point that he can't walk well enough to hunt anymore. For the last few years we have been discussing how I might be able to obtain what for me would be a once-in-a- lifetime gun. Being the kind soul that he is, he has allowed me to hunt the gun the past three grouse seasons and it is all I could want in a grouse gun.

Peter Chapman of London. 20 bore, 26" .003 & .007, 2-3/4", 5lbs. 3oz.

I don't know about Spanish Boswells, but I am aware the Canadian Boswells hard a reputation problem. Until not so long ago, I had a fine 1900 vintage Boswell, and became interested because of that gun. Don't remember the problem, just that there was something there. London made Boswells were outstanding guns. The current ownership of Boswell is attempting to regain their once fine reputation. (Chris Batha)
