If Naturabuy could ask its posters to publicize the SN of Robusts, this problem - dating Robusts - could be solved in a week. I sent this to Fab500 who hopefully can communicate with the website. (But come to think of it - this applies to virtually of the UK/USA websites as well).

Cependant, si d'une manière ou d'une autre on pouvait convaincre Naturabuy d'exiger l'affichage des numéros de série pour Robusts, nous pourrions créer un graphique vraiment efficace. Probablement dans un mois. J'espère que tout va bien en France ; Mon beau-frère a quitté Strasbourg pour la Réunion.

In looking at Robusts I've run across a word I don't know - "borgne"; sometimes "crosse de borgne." It appears to indicate something somewhat unusual - perhaps "cobbled together" or possibly "bent center view stock". Does anyone know a good definition of this term?

Trying to understand "Robust-Ideals" - It looks they had a separate numbering system: Here are three examples. Can anyone explain this?

SN 5315. . . . . Model 274. . . . . .Robust Ideal with "trigger plate" under lever: this gun has an "Ideal" type under-lever. I believe was only pre-WWII:

It is very frustrating that the proof house didn’t bother to date certificates of proof. I have looked at hundreds of those over the years, and that little addition would have answered questions.

Scary to think we are reliant on me for French text, but, I think that word refers to vision or lack of same, for the build of the stock. A stock for a vision impaired or partially blind individual, perhaps.
