Now the next thing after a robot and something immediately available is ChatGPT or Aritificial Intelligence. I was having a hard time with the French gun term "etrier." It translates as "stirrup." My wife spoke to chat GPT which explained it to her in French. She asked him to repeat in English. ChatGPT responded with something like the following". " 'Etrier' is in fact a stirrup; however this term is not used when referring to center-break guns. It is a specialty term referring to locking mechanisms. However the actual English term for it varies according to the gun type. If you would give me the gun maker and gun type I can give you a specific word."
Now imagine you are fishing a new stream. You could ask ChatGPT, "I am fishing the north fork of the paddlewonk river about two miles downstream for Diddleflick Dam, where are the best fishing holes?" You would get an answer.
Or, "What is the best load for xxx cartridge?"
The possibilities are endless. It's like having a personal all-knowing research assistant. This technology will soon put a thousand political analysts at the Department of State or a Department of Defense out of business.
