Pigeon guns and wildfowl guns can withstand a lot of use. Pigeon guns are similar to wildfowl guns in specs but finished to the highest standards and are much rarer in numbers.

I am not surprised about the quick sale. Round actions have a number of followers and nice example sell quickly or sell before they get to the gun shop at all. Skeleton Round actions are an even more sought after example. I missed a 16 a few years ago which sold for 20K pounds plus commissions. I dropped out at 14,000 and only regret I could not last to the end.

They built less than two thousand Dicksons. I'm surprised they are as reasonable as they are

Dickson's were kind of my holy grail for awhile, then I gave up looking because it seemed I could never find one at what I felt was a decent price. A few years ago I was able to trade into a damascus barreled gun in very good shape and that stirred the pot and I had to have another one and went overboard buying one from Graham. One warning, check carefully on exchange rate. The rate I was charged turned out higher because according to Graham the amount I wired was less than a certain break point. Funny thing both my damascus barreled gun and the steel barreled gun I bought from Graham were made in 1905.

Re shooting them a lot, if you consider these are light dynamic guns most people use relatively light loads, so the strain is not the same as shooting 10,000 trap loads.

JP Daeschler the current GM of Dicksons knows most guns, as Paul pointed out they have only made about 1800 RA, so he has seen many of them. He will help with info if he has it.
