Pigeon guns and wildfowl guns can withstand a lot of use. Pigeon guns are similar to wildfowl guns in specs but finished to the highest standards and are much rarer in numbers.
I am not surprised about the quick sale. Round actions have a number of followers and nice example sell quickly or sell before they get to the gun shop at all. Skeleton Round actions are an even more sought after example. I missed a 16 a few years ago which sold for 20K pounds plus commissions. I dropped out at 14,000 and only regret I could not last to the end.
