Absolutely!

Especially if those birds are flushing in dense cover, vs. the Great Wide Open. In other words, the effect of drop at the heel will be most pronounced in the ruffed grouse woods. I have found this out the hard way. Pheasant and prairie grouses are much more forgiving if it takes an extra moment to get your body wrapped around your gun appropriately.
