That's interesting! It sounds like your kiplauf rifle in 5.6x35R is a unique piece. The caliber and fast twist rate seem uncommon. The hand-loaded gaschecked bullets you use sound like a great way to get good performance out of the rifle. I recently picked up a single-shot pistol on Gunbroker and it seems to be in decent shape mechanically. There's a bit of rust on the internals, but nothing too serious. I've taken a wax cast of the chamber to determine the caliber, as I couldn't find any gauge marks online. While disassembling, I noticed two screws ground flush with the backstrap, which makes me think it might have been modified for a stock mount at some point.
