If you sort thru the British Chicken Scratching, you can see the 70mm chambers, 12/29 Proof Date & what looks to be an date of 1951 by the Birmingham Proof Facility?
An interesting Sauer Taubenflinte Modell Nr. 29C, whose order was placed Oktober 15th, 1928, passed thru the Suhl Proof Facility in December 1929 & delivered on January 31st, 1930. The books list the hand of Master Engraver Fritz Berkes as the author of the adornment but this is not the case & more than likely the tap, tap, tap is by the hand of his employee Klaus Werner. Now on the to the >>Der Führer<< on the PistolGrip Cap and that is very odd & looks to be of the hand of Richard Schilling. Not a lot of understanding of the phrase just yet.
In a bit of a rush as usual but I'll try to flip these later.
What I am looking for are opinions on the holes in the forend. A pattern effort by the current custodian shows it shooting 8" high but the probability of it leaving Sauer that way approaches zero.
