I don't know how waterproof Slacum is but since I mixed up a batch there has been a surplus of it in my sink. Dishwashing Soap and water don't seem to do much to it. I've been curious as to how long it will stay there.

Tex, that crankhandled bolt also looks a bit like the "pineapple" safety lever on a Charlin but it's definitely the key to "hand detachable" locks. Came from John Boyd out your way. Had an "oil" finish but looked pretty starved out. I steamed up a few creases and starting putting Beeswax/Linseed on it and then switched to the good stuff.
