Unfortunatly the stradegy of hunting has changed forever. If earlier hunter tried to come up to wild animal as closer as possible, today he armed with sub-moa rifle with gas filled scope or the 4-th generation NV can kill animal from allmost any distance.
But from very short distance double shotgun loaded with right ammo is deadly weapon, moreover it's stopper.
