For God's sake. . .this line is on the verge of being cancelled and it really is important to promote this technology to our group. So why the political shite as a reaction to the usual stirrers. . .Just talk about what this new technology can do for us for once starting with vocabulary to make it simple. If you want to talk politics go on some other board (say currently every site on the internet or all of the Media commentary sites). Not singling anyone out but this is just silly. Gene Sorry about the distractions, and it is silly, but if the usual few are going to interject politics into a topic, I am probably going to respond in kind. I've grown tired of just letting the broadsides slide. Look back and see where it started... This Off-Topic topic has virtually nothing to do with Double Guns. Aaron's observations that A.I. can and will generate false information or lies shows that it can't be trusted to produce accurate information pertaining to our doubles, so there is much to be concerned about with this new technology. The politics of defending our 2nd Amendment Rights should be a lot more important to all firearms owners than your own off-topic thread, and there are plenty of other sites where this would be more appropriate. But the real shit-stirrers on firearms forums continue to be those who support the anti-gun Democrats who continually work to legislate to eliminate our firearms, ammunition, and gun manufacturers. And isn't it revealing to see Billy and the Nutty Professor continuing to call Trump a serial liar when the Democrats and Media lied to the Nation and the entire world for years about Biden's dementia, propped him up as a sham puppet candidate, and then disenfranchised every Democrat who voted for him by forcing him to step aside? Even A.I. couldn't imagine or create that sort of election interference. But they call Trump a threat to Democracy! And if it Doesn't respond correctly, teach it. The thing learns and enriches us all...think encyclopedias. What will prevent A.I. from being taught to accept fiction and lies as fact, and then repeating it? Think encyclopedias??? They have been replaced by Liberal Controlled entities like Google, and programmed with biased and false algorithms that already bury much Conservative content like the Trump assassination attempt. That said, I'm guessing it is only a matter of time until we see some A.I. generated images to support the unproven notion that E.M. Reilly was a large actual manufacturer of all manner of guns, and employed over 300 gunmakers, any more than say Montgomery Wards or Sears Roebuck... which at least owned Meriden Arms co. We will no doubt also see A.I. generated 19th century London Census data finally showing names and occupations of these alleged 300 plus gunmakers. And it wouldn't surprise me to also see A.I. generated photos of large numbers of small bore Ithaca Flues shotguns with frames cracked in normal usage. There, I got us a bit on topic. And Brent, you contribute a lot of substance to the board. I love your pooch, but could you find a way to reduce the footprint of the photo? Thanks. (I mentioned the usual "stirrers") Argo44, don't hold your breath waiting for the Nutty Professor to reduce his Tagline image. However, it is amusing to see you being critical of the footprint of an oversized tagline photo when you have used this forum as cloud storage space for the rough draft of your epic E.M. Reilly book, which is now up to 101 pages of mostly one-sided opinion. We all know the oversized photo was added as an eye-poke to Dustin after he criticized the Merkel shotgun, and the "BrentD, (Professor - just for Stan)" was added to his tagline as an eye-poke to Stan after he had the gall to question his credentials and intelligence. That was also why he changed his screen name by adding "Prof". This was the topic of a recent Thread, and the Nutty Professor blamed the oversized image on what he feels is Dave's outdated software, thus his inability to resize it. https://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=649154&page=1He was given instructions to resize it, and his friend GLS has also posted perfectly clear and easy instructions on photo posting, and which Photo Hosting services make resizing images most simple and easy... even for dummies. It is nothing more than a garish and immature eye-poke from a man-child you would never overtly criticize, no matter how offensive or wrong. I know you would never ever consider the Nutty Prof as one of the "usual Stirrers", nor yourself for that matter. At least the giant malnourished dog image replaced his equally pathetic one-man campaign to defund this site, all because Dave didn't respond to his crybaby complaints. What would we expect from someone who is openly critical of the NRA, yet hypocritically spends time using NRA facilities at the Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico? You can hate me for saying the truth, but the beat goes on...

RMB is the one that first injected politics into the thread. Not I. Anyday you want to debate and twice on Sunday. Be happy to pop your balloons You know that this site is "curated" and it will get swiftly locked. But if you and any of your fellow soi boys friends want to debate freely and defend your beliefs then go to http://www.notssmbbs.comWe can see you, your malnourished dog and 2x4 wood gun stock over there. Or maybe not. I doubt you have the courage or 30 bucks to join.

How about a simple AI demo?
For instance, ask it, “ hey Oracle, how do I remove barrels on. Charlin sliding breech shot gun?”
I would just ask Ted, but now I’m curious. It’s free for me telling you how to get them off. Best, Ted _______________________________________________________________ I get $50 to tell you how to put ‘em back on.

Several years ago, I replaced the engine and transmission on a Pontiac Grand Am. I needed a torque spec for the front axle nuts, so I called 6 different Pontiac dealerships, and kept getting what I was certain were wrong answers ranging between 75 and 150 ft./lbs. People often break good Proto or Snap On 1/2" breaker bars while using cheater pipes when removing these, so common sense made me highly skeptical. I told the Service Manager who gave me the 75 ft./lb. spec that it couldn't possibly be right, and that I could do that with a 10" Crescent wrench. He insisted it was correct, and was right out of the GM Service Manual. I knew better, and kept looking. The correct torque was 284 ft./lbs. So I went to a swap meet that weekend and bought a used California Torque Specialties 3/4" drive 600 ft./lb. capacity torque wrench. Garbage in--- Garbage out.... like the indoctrination of Liberals incapable of rational thought by the DNC and Fake News media. Even A.I. will not be able to fix stupid, but it may be able to accelerate the process of making dumb people more stupid at a faster rate.

I was just imagining how ai could be used to archive technical points for the benefit of the site.
There are probably five or six tactical points for the various American vintage shotguns that could be worked through AI.
Disassembly, assembly, various brands and models for instance
Out there doing it best I can.

The simplest reason I can offer, and Keith touched on it for a split second before focusing on other things, is that we have all seen the reiteration of inaccurate information in the gun world.
Whether one likes it or not, this could very well be the chance for the last remainingGeneration of side-by-side aficionados, to consolidate real factual information instead of letting lies and inaccuracies proliferate.
People here literally have the opportunity to create the truth and make it so.
But they would have to want to.
Out there doing it best I can.

Am I the only one who sees a bit of hypocrisy here? Specifically, that those who enjoy and espouse the utilization of vintage guns, built by vintage men and means, would turn to artificial intelligence to solve mechanical issues? It's glaring in it's obvious contradiction.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

That ship sailed Stan. Or if you like, the horse done already left the barn.
People look everything up with their phone, tablet, or computer. It’s how repairs are now done. Manufacturers provide video to their service centers.
I view these days as an opportunity to correct fallacies that were regurgitated over and over for decades.
Or plant new ones just to piss off the high and mighty.
Out there doing it best I can.

It's glaring in it's obvious contradiction. No more hypocrisy than using this digital forum to discuss them, including their feeding and maintenance. You probably are the only one that sees it as hypocrisy.
