the johnson 450 alaskan took advantage of the large number of model 1886 winchesters that wound up in alaska, and anticipated the model 71. i once handled one in the old gunshop on the main drag in durango, colorado - probably 45+ years ago...had the case forming and loading dies with it. i have owned and loaded a couple of hot rod 45-70's - and they will deliver the goods at short ranges....
