I am glad to see he agrees that the course was harder than last year, although my friend using my .410 Rottweil improved his score on last year beating me by an even bigger margin.

My own score was worse than last year.

I did cheer myself up slightly on the third stand, the second off the Tower.

Having missed the first two pairs trying to take them as incomers from the right (should have been easy as a left-hander) I altered my stance 90 degrees to the left and broke the second two pairs as overhead crossers.

Unfortunately the brain cells involved then flickered out again for the remainder of the course.

Still a well organised and very enjoyable event in excellent company.

What other YOU TUBE celeb's were there. I had heard Jonny Carter, TGS was going to be shooting it. Last year guys from other YOU TUBE channels were there like Andy Crow.

Were you shooting 1/2 oz 2 1/2" ammo? Shot size limited to #7 1/2 or smaller?
Sure sounds challenging.

I believe I heard 9/16 or maybe 19gram loads. NOT 14.
I heard it in one of the videos related to the open championship.

Different country, different rules.

3” loads add quite a few targets to a round of clays in the .410

I would estimate 10 for me on a 100 round course.

If you notice how British sporting clays are often shot, you will see stations where you bang out eight identical shots before moving on. That is death to a 410 at the edge of range.

Out there doing it best I can.

Bill,

Most people were shooting 3”, although Charlie Jacoby was probably running his grandmother’s side by side hammer gun on 2 1/2”.

I was using Fiocchi 76mm 18 gram 7 1/2 (Italian size so British 7 and your 7.5)

There's a much cheaper and less objectionable way to do that, if that had been the goal.
