Nice thread, ed. I liked the spaniel breed article. The Weatherby SXS is nice. I wish it didn't have the swamped rib that some people like. Thanks for posting.

The thing about the swamped or sunken rib that I like, is that it causes the shooter to naturally keep his head down...and it discourages ones tendency to raise his head to see the bird better...thus causing one to often shoot low on a rising bird...
keep it simple and keep it safe...

All I see is an article about spruce grouse hunting in Alaska. Nothing about swamped ribs or Weatherby SxSs. There is an article that seems to claim that 28 gauge guns defy physics (yawn).

Uh-Oh!! They changed all the articles, BrentD. It has a date of August 31st, so they must have changed it since ed posted it. And you are right about the swamp rib, ed. I knew a lot of people liked them. That's why I was very careful about not bad-mouthing them in my previous post. Ha-ha!! Thanks again.
