Some major gun dealers own very little of the inventory that they have on display. They will take consignment guns and do not seem to care how long they sit on the shelves( a couple of examples mentioned here)

Two of the issue: They tell the owner an unrealistic amount that they can sell it for. Second, the owner of the gun expect an unrealistic price for the gun and the shop owner will not tell him thats too much. So the gun sits.

I know most of the people in the trade and have seen this going on for years. I feel that if a dealer takes a gun on consignment it should be priced fairly so the gun could be sold in 90-120 days. Not sit at a dealers for several years. That is not a benefit to anybody
