Well Preacher, it looks like you finally gave up on proving Dewey wrong about Model 21's, and decided to start another Off-Topic Thread... this time to whine about Off-Topic Threads!

Did you ever hear that admonition from Jesus where He said, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

You could use that for the topic of a sermon, but I think it would be lost on you. Here's another of the many totally Off-Topic threads and/or posts you yourself have made. It also had nothing to do with double guns:

https://doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=456891&page=1

But I keep forgetting that you feel that you are special, and exempt from following the rules that you complain about... which is just about identical to the way your pal the Nutty Professor feels.

I haven't been able to figure out why you two have not gotten together to start your own firearms forum. I'm sure it would be a rousing success.

But I can answer your somewhat stupid question, although you won't like or accept the answer. This forum has always had Off-Topic posts. Sometimes they were accepted, and other times people complained about them. From reading old Threads in the archives, I saw this was going on long before I joined the forum. And sometimes, Dave would respond to the complainers, who were forced to read things they didn't like, by locking a Thread

Even putting "OT" or "Off-Topic" in the title of a Thread wasn't enough to keep some whiners and crybabies from clicking on it, and then doing their usual crying to Dave. It's almost like they had some freakish dystonia disorder that forced their hand to involuntarily click a mouse and read something they found objectionable.

Then sometime in 2008, Dave responded to complainers by starting a new sub-forum called Misfires, for Off-Topic stuff. It greatly reduced the number of Off-Topic threads on the main page.

That was OK for a while, but crybabies and whiners are always looking for some reason to throw a tantrum, and inevitably, they started complaining about the unseen hand that now was forcing them to go to the sub-forum dedicated to Off-Topic subjects, and started whining and crying about that too.

Dave eventually responded by shutting down the Misfires forum. And I know you have trouble with things like connecting the dots, but surprise-surprise... as your frantic search for a trend in numbers of locked Threads has shown, the incidence of Off-Topic Threads in the main Double Gun forum increased after the special sub-forum for them was itself locked.

As they say, be careful what you wish for... you might get it!

Now Preacher, if you could only go back in time and delete all of your own Off-Topic matter... your personal attacks on guys you dislike such as Pine Creek Dave, Foxy, Ed, James M., Homeless jOe, Dave K., me, etc. If you could only go back and delete your own off topic political commentary, off-topic posts about trips to Guatemala, religion, medicine, etc., then this might have some validity. But you can't. All you can do is more of your whining and complaining... the same sort of crying that led to the demise of the Misfires forum.

I'm not saying I want Misfires back. I don't miss it at all, and I don't tell Dave how to run his forum. That's a job for phonies like you and the Nutty Professor.

I'd like you to go back and click on that link you provided to the 11/2018 "No more money for Dave" thread. Then go to my post at the end, where it was finally locked. Please read that post where I cited numerous examples of dishonesty and hypocrisy here that masquerade as civility. Then mentally add this Off-Topic Thread to the list.
