Thanks for noticing Craig wink I have previously apologized for my less-than-Christlike words, and baiting, and will do so again. But our cross doesn't come with a sign that says "Abuse me, use me, twist my words and lie about me." I don't share the pacifist doctrines of my distant Anabaptist cousins, but when personally attacked followers of Christ however are expected to respond differently than those in the world, and I could have done better.

To answer my question, we've always had guys on the Forum with strong opinions and willingness to..uh...forcefully share them, a few miserable mean SOB who are only happy when making everyone else miserable, and a good collection of easily diagnosable Personality Disorders. I think what has changed is a reflection of the degradation of societal norms of behavior, lack of self-control, and free-floating rage. That rage destroys relationships and the one raging from within, until there is nothing left but bitterness. Everyone is mad (and a bit mentally ill 'mad') today. Look at air travel. Road rage. In a recent poll 1/3 of college students felt that violence was an acceptable form of protest, and 2/3 were OK with shouting down opinions with which you disagree.
And IMHO things have been much worse since COVID. And the mental health of children and young adults by every measure is much worse; hopelessness, despair, feelings of isolation and loneliness, global anxiety & depression, and suicide are at the highest rates ever seen.

It's hard not to be discouraged at the direction this nation is headed, and want to withdraw, but Christ followers don't really have that option, and the light of the Gospel shines most brightly in the darkness. And Bible believers know how all this ends.
BTW I'm a Reform non-cessationist but don't claim the gift of prophecy, but predict that ed's latests post is soon to be locked too smile
And this Forum will be what Dave choses to let it be.
