Hey folks… I’m not here all the time but I love this board and wanted to check the rules.
I am a professional photographer shooting firearms for a friend of mines company. Occasionally we come upon some really nice stuff (everything is pretty nice. Not much plastic.) currently photographing a grade five Ithaca that belonged to famed Tulsa oilman Bill Skelly or possibly J Paul Getty.
Anyhow everything is for sale and will eventually go to gunbroker. But I wanted to check and see if you wanted me to post photos here or if that would violate the board rules? I don’t have to post links or whatever. It’s not really to advertise. Just to share cool stuff.
Anyhow. Thanks for all the help I’ve gotten over the years here either way.
Thanks ShaneB

Shane, Walt Snyder used to regularly post photos of marvelous Ithacas. We miss that and him. I’d say post away - Ithacas and everything else you see that’s unique and interesting.

I live a short distance away from the old Skelly lodge entrance. Lots of history there. https://journalrecord.com/2009/01/these-walls-the-skelly-lodge/

Sounds great! It has to be an improvement over the Babylon Bee thread.
Once upon a time, this website had knowledgeable people posting about guns. More of that type of content would be a nice change.

Pictures are always welcome. When I was little, Monkey Jim used to do shadow animals on the wall for us. Run off by self appointed thought nannies, but the memories have to be an improvement over some comments.

Once upon a time, this website had knowledgeable people posting about guns. More of that type of content would be a nice change. I strongly suspect that all the childish bickering and political sniping that seems to permeate almost every thread by the usual handful have chased away many of those that used to share their love and knowledge of double guns, something that one would assume (I certainly did) this site was intended for. I have just started to put those on ignore to try to “clean up” the site but am more likely to just leave. To be fair, my leaving will have minor affect on the quality of the site since I am here with WAY more questions than answers and I don’t even ask most of them because of the inevitable spiral that any thread I may choose to start will surely end up by in. It is a shame as I was here MANY years ago, back when I bought my “John Miller” 8GA SXS and came here looking for info and advice. There was a LOT of knowledgeable members that were happy to share that knowledge and I don’t recall ANY of the personal bickering that is so prevalent today. It’s a shame but it seems that everything in life, that starts out good and useful eventually gets taken over and rendered useless by people that are more interested in arguing and “upsetting the apple cart” than discussing the topics for which the site was created. It is a shame but not uncommon.

I might do that... but more than anything... I just want to give some pretty photos and hopefully interesting conversation to the board I've learned so much from. Plus... you guys will likely see what's coming before it hits the ol gunbroker. The fellas been known to take offers pre-auction. Thanks! ShaneB
