spent 3 1/2 days in an undisclosed location in northern NY pursuing Grouse and Woodcock with a buddy. we hunted a pointing dog in the mornings and my Field Bred Springer in the afternoons.

here are the stats

total birds flushed 76
woodcock 58
Grouse 18
birds killed
woodcock `14
Grouse 2

dont judge our shooting. lots of leaves and lots of tight cover.
awesome week for sure.

Awesome. I hunted upstate New York this time last year. I got absolutely shredded with thorns and sharp sticks in that tight cover. If I ever do it again, I am going to wear something other than lightweight brush pants. I was pulling out thorns for weeks!

Hunted for a week in the ADK. I was surprised at the number of Woodcock.
