Hunt was in Eastern Montana and glad you agree that antelope is great chow! I've never heard "soft beef" but that makes sense. Numbers are way down so I didn't opt for the doe tag this year, plus was way too far off the road for more than one.
I was listening to a Montana hunting podcast and a biologist said that the ultimate big game animal would be an antelope the size of an elk, which makes perfect sense to me: elk sized critter with delicious antelope tasting meat.
