Powder type and charge weight was often included in old catalogs' data, especially, but not only by DWM. This data is also often shown on the box, containing the cartridges, along with ballistic data. Instead of muzzle velocity/ energy it is often shown at 25 meters, which complicates comparison between foreign and American cartridges. I am given to understand that Austrian ammunition companies were required to use Austrian propellants, which didn't seem to be as efficient as German propellants in similar cartridges. This is the reason substitutes are so handy for handloaders, when carefully and thoughtfully applied.
