Handwringing over something we have no control over??

If you look at some of more respected doublegun dealer site's you could get the idea that the market for run of the mill used shooter type guns is still at the top of the crazy covid market of '21-'22. I'm on the sidelines at this point after being in the hunt for well over 30yrs of looking for the next SxS prize to add to my safe. I'm now waiting for the big market correction which will surely happen.

In Colorado, we will now have another thing to contend with, where the progressive voters on the front range just passed a 6.5% excise tax by a 65% margin for all sales of guns, ammo and many categories of guns parts & accessories. Now if we buy one of our beloved doubles from a local dealer or off a site like Gunbroker, we will have to pay the 6.5% on top of the regular state sales tax. In some instances, if you're buying from a local dealer when you add in the local taxes you may be paying as high as 15% tax on a gun or ammo purchase, then you might have to add another 3.5% if you use a credit card. This will come into play in the decision-making process if your contemplating purchasing a fairly expensive gun.

The election might be over, but the headwinds are still blowing in many states across the nation.
