For as long as I've been a member on this forum, there have been grim predictions about the collapse of double gun values. I've been patiently waiting for all of these bargains as shooters age out and demand falls, but by and large, selling prices for domestically produced doubles are holding their own. In no reserve internet gun auctions, prices for even lowly 12 ga. field grade guns are stable, or have increased to a degree. Same for private sales, and sales at gun shows and gun shops.

Those who bought British doubles at the top of the market have been blind-sided by falling prices, and the market has been flooded as British gun owners have sold their guns en masse as a result of lead ammunition bans and increased anti-gun laws and regulations. Even many higher grade guns are not appreciating in value as they did in the past. The same could easily happen here if we take our eyes off the ball, and permit anti-gun Democrats to continue to chip away at our Gun Rights. We can relax and celebrate right now, but if we become complacent, we will all lose in the end. The anti-gunners play the long game, and they are counting on us to just roll over and let it happen.

Even with the proof in plain sight, some gun owners still want us to ignore the obvious:

There is no kind or polite way to say that sentiment is beyond stupid. Without the 2nd Amendment, strong Gun Rights organizations like the NRA and GOA, Supreme Court Justices who enforce the original intent of the 2nd Amendment, the votes of pro-2nd Amendment shooters and pro-gun politicians, we would be in the same dark places as gun owners in Great Britain, Australia, or Canada, where handguns became totally illegal to buy, sell, or transfer last year.

We would see the cost of shooting increase dramatically, as just happened in Colorado in Prop. 127. We would see onerous storage requirements, we would see increased costs to buy and sell firearms through taxes, fees, and regulations that punish law abiding gun owners.

Demand for many collectibles such as guns and classic cars has fallen somewhat. All of us will eventually age out of the shooting sports, just as our Fathers and Grandfathers did. We will be replaced by other shooters and gun owners, and some will eventually gravitate toward doubles... just like we did.

Political Threads like this may not be popular to those who support the anti-gun Democrats. They may continue to get locked and shut down. And doing so will not save this forum or make it more popular. It will only give cover to those who represent the greatest threat to the value of all firearms.

Another Firearms forum I visit every day has sub-forums devoted to the 2nd Amendment and General Political Discussion. There are dozens of Threads with hundreds of pages of Funny Political Pictures, Memes, and topics that are surely offensive to gun owners who foolishly support anti-gun Democrats. There is no coddling of those types whatsoever. They are the ones who are getting locked out or shut down... and the site is thriving without them. When you have termites in a wood framed house... the worst possible thing you could do is permit the colony to grow.

Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug
