Mr. Williamson, don't feel to-bad. It sounds like your grandchildren are mostly immune to that madness. I'm also hearing analysis that indicates many Gen-Xers are going fairly conservative these days, and just voted accordingly.
Moreover, I'm happy to say that my old home state (Pennsylvania) helped in this recent election. Colorado has gone totally bat-crap crazy and hasn't voted for a conservative in the last 25 years. I'm hoping the "Woke Mind Virus" will dissipate a bit after last Tuesday? The folks that propagate that crap are on the run today because... they know what's coming.
