As a veteran, I want to wish all the veterans a Happy Veteran's Day as well as a heartfelt thank you for your service. Let us remember those who sacrificed their lives, as well those who are serving this day.
God bless America!

Timely reminder, Karl.

Every day is Veterans Day for me. I never stop being thankful for veterans. At every opportunity I thank veterans for their service.

May God bless America and those who defend her.

I miss that old guy.

I took Friday off work to stomp around in his favorite pheasant spot. We’ve been hunting it for 50 years. Dad loved that little spot, a nasty tangle of lowland between huge farming operations that draws the pheasants like a magnet after the crops are out. It hit 60 degrees, I knew on the ride down it was going to be slim pickings, I can’t get to the islands in the cattail slews if they aren’t frozen.

Dad was a Marine’s Marine, he loved his Corps, did his 30 years and enjoyed his troops. I never realized how few hunting partners I had until he was gone.

Happy Veterans Day, Sarge.

Best,
Ted

Ted,
I'm sure he was somehow with you during your hunt. I know that my old hunting partners are with me when I hunt those "familiar hunting spots".

Happy Veterans Day! And Thank You to all Veterans who sacrificed all or some of their lives to protect our Republic and preserve our freedoms. When I was a young man and entered the workforce fresh out of college, many of my older co-workers were WWII and Korean War Veterans. And in spite of all they went through, the vast majority rarely, if ever, mentioned their service. Sadly, most are gone now.

When I think of those brave men who stormed the beaches at Normandy on D-Day, who fought relentless hordes of Chinese and North Korean troops in freezing temperatures in Korea, and who endured Guerrilla warfare in the steaming jungles of Vietnam, I can't help but wonder what they would have thought to know that they would be honored with two days a year on Memorial Day and Veterans Day... and that Liberal Left Woke Democrats would devote an entire month to honoring LGBTQ perversions with their Pride Month?

I sincerely hope that RFK Jr. can figure this out as HHS Secretary. I don't know if it is from fluoridation of water, childhood vaccine side effects, or food additives... but something has caused a large percentage of our population to lose their minds.

Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug

Thanks to me for my service, 1 November 67 to 31 October 69, US Army. And thanks to all the others. It was much more satisfying than my 29 1/2 years of government service after.

Bill your dates remind me of mine, December 15, 1965 to November 30, 1967. I was let out early to make room for all the new recruits coming in. Went in at Ft. Dix and let out at Ft. Dix. When I was drafted my dad drove me down to the induction center and said to me, don't feel bad you are going in for 24 months, I was a prisoner for 28 months. Never talked about it but found out his whole battalion was captured in northern Africa and was sent to a concentration camp in Germany. He did tell me later that one of his guards was a college student in Chicago and went back to Germany right after and said that if he knew the war was going to start he would have never left America. My dad said he was treated ok under the circumstances. Irony is I was sent to Germany and was stationed outside of Frankfort in a casern outside of Butzbach with the 503 Military Police.
