You can continue with your unoriginal juvenile politics which the whole internet is filled with but no-one wants to have here and you'll lose this board. Or you can exercise some self discipline. It doesn't look like you care about the first and don't have any of the second.

Relax. 2024 hunting seasons have only been open a few months. I’m out of the field for two weeks, three weeks in one zone, due to deer season being open. I don’t run my dog during deer season, and, I also try to give the public dirt owners, of which, I am one, space for their hobby this time of year.That part will pick up once everyones hunting seasons are open. I think the Pennsylvania guys just opened grouse season.

Don’t disregard what just happened, politically. I don’t believe a similar event has happened in our lifetime, and may not ever again. The death by a thousand cuts of sport hunting has been far too real for me, and continues (nice new tax the folk of Colorado get to pay for the privilege of buying ammunition) but, I’m hopeful there will be a few less cuts in the coming four years.

The politics will die down and the issues with seeing, shooting, cooking, loading, choking, clay birding, and any other subject related to old guns like ours will resume.

You’ll see.

Ted, I've spent 26 years abroad and follow politics and Washington and bureaucracy as much as anybody. Nobody is shorting this election and the issues involved in it. But it already is everywhere. So why replay it here?

I have politely asked a couple of the people involved to just drop it and they have. I've stopped responding to personal insults because it doesn't go anywhere that is productive. But jamming these posts onto our front page accomplishes what?

It is no more than a short lived celebration. The candidate who supported forced buy backs of scary looking guns was not only defeated, but, rejected soundly. Wish it didn’t matter, but, those “ the constitution is a living, breathing, document” people never give up.

I don’t believe you or I would have been unaffected with regards to our firearms, ammunition for same, and places for the use of same, had the election not gone the way it did.

I suspect the celebration will be fairly brief. It is what it is.

That's the problem Ted. It doesn't go away. It thrives and invades and insults and smears and provokes and our sport is forgotten.

We've been down this road before in 2018 and it took a major effort and a couple of the provocateurs are still around. It has to be killed in the bud or we just abandon the subject line on our board. I enjoyed looking at some of those 2008 lines but the repartee was about guns. This stuff goes nowhere.

It does look like the loudmouthed lefty "mega political posters" of the last 4 years on this board have melted like snowflakes since Election night.

They are probably in their safe spaces, in the fetal position having milk and cookies.

Fair point, but some of us have walked in different shoes, and wide spectrum of perspectives.

This Thread by Argo44 is 100% deceptive. It is nothing but more of his FAKE NEWS... intended to censor and shut down discussions he does not like.

Look very carefully at his first post. Look at the numbers of views, which he is using as false evidence to claim that recent political Threads are driving down the numbers of views and participation over time.

Then look at the dates. He is comparing the number of views of Greg's annual "Favorite Guns/Game Pictures" Thread over time. But he is using radically different dates. He is comparing total views from yesterday, 11/11/2024, to the number of views in earlier years... six, seven, and over eight months later.

Is it any wonder that there are more views for the earlier 2012, 2016, 2016, and 2017 Threads after they ran more than half a year longer?

FIGURES LIE, AND LIARS FIGURE! This is the sort of PHONY CRAP you expect from CNN or MSNBC.

This is like comparing a fair chase wild Ruffed Grouse hunt to shooting domestic chickens inside of a hen house.

You can go back to October or November of any prior Presidential Election Year, and easily find that Political Threads are nothing new here. Some got locked, and some ran on and on with spirited debate and commentary until they ran out of steam. Contrary to the claims of deceptive Liberal Democrats, they didn't drive people away. In many cases, they got more views and participation than any other concurrent Threads.

The overall popularity and interest in those topics has been pointed out many times here. The number don't lie... unless you manipulate them as Argo44 has done here!

What has changed over time is that butt-hurt Liberals and Democrats were frequently unable to defend their support for Anti-Gun Democrats, and instead of making a good evidence based case, they began acting like spoiled children and crybabies who decided to take their ball and quit playing when they were losing the game. They began crying to Dave, and making false arguments that these long running and popular Political Threads were the death of this forum.

This is the same cowardly and deceptive ploy used by the Liberal Media and Social Media to shut down and censor their opposition. Argo44 should be ashamed, and his lack of honesty and credibility should be evident to everyone.

Most of us were intelligent enough to see through the Lies the Media and the DNC told about Donald Trump. We should be smart enough to see through Argo44's big fat lies too.
