Re the title of this topic: I was unaware that we classify shot size by gauge. Seems we've been doing it forever by the size of the pellet. As a 16ga shooter for a very long time, I've never realized that there were pellets sized specifically for the 16. If I'm reloading 8's whether in 20ga shells or 16ga shells, the pellets come out of the same bag.

Grams. About 1/2 ounce, the normal 2 1/2" .410 load.

The proper abbreviation for gauge is ga., not g.

As a Limey, if I had wanted to say 16 bore I would have done so.

I can see how that would work fine in a OBG (one barrel gun). However, I doubt it would regulate in any of my S x S .410s.

Works just fine in my Citori Feather XS 30" O/U mod/full. Also in my Win 101 O/U 26" IC/Mod, and in my obscure Spanish SxS 28", about IC/Mod. And in my Rem 1100 26" Mod, and in my other Win 42 26" Mod. Have not tried it yet in my Uggie Aspen 28" with tight IC/Mod. I like .410s.

Glad it worked so well for you. Some of my S X Ss are very finicky, and prefer heavy-for-gauge payloads at lower velocity to regulate.

I've also noticed that very few people pattern O/Us to see if they are regulating up and down. Perhaps you are the exception to the norm.
