Hungry people are seldom very political with what they will eat.

When I was in High School, there was a Fast Food chain called Winky's that was cheaper than McDonalds. They abruptly went out of business, supposedly because they were serving burgers that contained non-USDA Inspected horse and kangaroo meat. And often, it is simply a matter of how people were raised.

Prior to the 1988 Seoul, South Korea Olympics, the U.S. Olympic Committee put a lot of pressure on South Korea to stop restaurants from serving dogs, which were considered a delicacy. They knew American and other visitors would be aghast and offended by the custom of eating what we consider pets.

I recall an interview with one Seoul Restaurant owner. He said, "They might be able to stop us from serving dog meat on the main streets. But they will never stop it completely, because once you have eaten dog, nothing else compares."

I will take his word for it. And this sort of thing is precisely why I never eat food from any Chinese restaurant here.

Hunger is like a box of chocolates. Felons that commit further crimes, while defying assimilation, probably has more to do with entitlement and arrogance, than hunger.

I ate dog in Vietnam, and leopard, heart pieces raw with the blood (and by the way served with mango it was delicious; people don't eat bad tasting stuff). And this post has what exactly to do with double-guns? Just asking.

If you all want to talk politics, go ahead and ruin this board. Or you could do it at the local cafe; or why not on X or instagram or something?

I was compared to Don Quixoti previously and I have tilted at windmills in the Fed Gov for 50 years. When something didn't fit, whether in Vietnam, Pakistan, Africa, Central Asia there was a choice; stay silent and go up in the bureaucracy or try to change things. I'm not saying whether or not I agree with the political premise here. I'm just saying this crappola is bad for our site. Now you guys carry on.

Edit: I'll add this as an example. I have a 95 year old uncle; he was air-wing commander on the Enterprise and from 1947 to 1970 was a top Navy pilot, the chief test-pilot for the Harrier development in Uk in the early 60's, dozens of missions over NVN etc. He grew up during the depression in the Deep South and I heard my grand-mother, his mother telling us how Hoover "tried to starve people during the depression." He is still voting that way to this day. - for Roosevelt's party You cannot change him. And I will not try nor will I try to humiliate him. He is an American.

Sorry Ted....you are always right. The French eat snails, frogs legs, goose livers, - dragon flies and chocolate covered ants work. But, I draw the line at blubber and the Arctic is not my thingy. smile

Blubber is rich in Vitamin C which is why Scurvy is not a disease in the Inuits; But the westerners who went up there couldn't abide it. The had to concoct a mix of seaweed to ward it off.

Gene,
Dial it down, brother. It’s just guys of like mind exchanging thoughts in the arena of ideas. This site will be just fine. Don’t worry, be happy. Good will prevail over evil.

Argo44, your Post has absolutely nothing with double guns... just like the dozens of Threads and Posts you have submitted here that were devoted to non-Double-Gun matter such as (partial list)...Jeeps, Rolex watches, Pashtun genealogy, Oriental rugs, Model 870 pumpguns, Kayak trips in Alaska, Vietnam War exploits (frequent topic), Motorcycles, your French wife, photos of non-game dinners she cooks, Artificial Intelligence (something you seriously need), Robots, Office of Strategic Services, Minnesota Moose Hunting, Alcoholic beverages, History of Armistice Day, Driving from Alaska to Portland with Model 870 Pump, Imperial War Museum, Baluch and Brahui Ethnology, An Informal Dictionary of the Cold War (political), Notre Dame burning, War Zone Maps, Roll Tide (Alabama Football), The French Nanny State (political), Ham Radio... and most important of all...

...Multiple Threads Predicting the Demise of Double Gun Shop forums due to Off-Topic content!!!!

You really don't have to say whether you agree with the political premise here. And I'm sure you won't allow it to carry on without further attempts to censor it. We get commentary from both sides of the Political divide. But there is clear long-term circumstantial evidence to show that you are only triggered into shutting down conversations here that are unflattering to the anti-gun Democrats. You have had ample opportunities to confront and oppose the frequent anti-Trump Posts from those members who proudly supported anti-gun Democrats, yet you held your tongue and never called to have them banned. While you did claim to ask Jimmy W to stop his serial Trump Derangement Syndrome posts, you never opined that he should be banned, as you have with Conservatives who clearly and proudly support pro-2nd Amendment Republicans. And you do reside less than 5 miles from the heart of the Washington, D.C. Swamp... where there was at least 95% support this election for Kamala Harris. Most of us can connect the dots.

If it walks, flies, and quacks like a duck... well, we are not fooled.

I am not at all surprised that you mentioned aspects from your most recent attempt to "save the forum" from political Threads, and particularly from the unnamed "Esteemed Political Poster". So why are Political Threads from you OK, but those from Kolar are bad? You didn't even mention or apologize for using 100% deceptive data to make your false claim that Political Threads are dramatically reducing overall views and/or participation in Greg's annual Guns/Game Picture Thread. Why did you lie to us?

I usually agree with John Roberts, but not on this. This is not simply "guys of like mind exchanging thoughts in the arena of ideas." This attempt at censorship from you is more of the same thing we have repeatedly seen here... where the supporters of anti-2nd Amendment Democrats will say and do anything to try to convince other gun owners that 2nd-Amendment or political Threads that are unflattering to anti-gunners will lead to the demise of this... or any other Firearms Forum.

The Big Tent theory, that claims we are stronger when we all stick together, is nothing but a Big Lie. A Big Tent of gun owners filled with backstabbers is not a safe place. It is intended to give cover to gun owners who vote against our interests by supporting anti-gunners. With your military background, you know damn well that anyone in the military who helped the enemy undermine their cause would be court martialed and imprisoned. Being kept aware of the continual threat to our Gun Rights will never make us weaker, nor will it lead to the demise of this forum.
